From the Assessors' Office
***side note, this is a little late publishing and is of no fault to the Assessor's office***
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. It has been a bit different for me as a fall has put me in a wheelchair since mid June. I hope to be able to walk by mid August. In the meantime a wonderful event happened timing wise. A young lady, Stephanie Underhill, came to me and asked if I would mentor her to become an assessor. The requirements to become an assessor are quite difficult and time-consuming, so I was very excited to help her. The Town Board did appoint Stephanie as a clerk for me, and she has been able to assist me while I am laid up. Fortunately, with our newer phone system I have been able to get all voicemail messages here at home and I still receive all emails.
Summer is a quiet time for assessors, but the code officers are working overtime with building permits. I will be reviewing the permits and start hitting the road by September to review. If you see a midnight blue (looks black) Chevy Equinox on the side of the road with 4 ways going it will probably be me.
May the rest of your summer be wonderful,
Anne M. Sapienza, IAO
